Nexans Ivory Coast

Abidjan, Ivory Coast, November 9th, 2018 - As part of its development strategy in Africa, and to contribute to the growth of the Economic Community of West African States, Nexans Group inaugurates its plant in Ivory Coast.

As a gateway to the West African sub-region, Ivory Coast is the driving force behind the ECOWAS economy, with continuing growth of cables and electrical transformers markets in recent years. The installation of the Nexans Ivory Coast plant will support the electrification and residential and tertiary construction program in the country.

Built in the new PK 24 industrial zone, the 32,000 m² factory will produce low voltage cables for the residential and tertiary building markets. The entity will also manufacture cables for the electricity distribution network and will be the first plant in the region to produce transformers and prefabricated substations. It will create some 100 direct jobs.

This important investment is the result of a partnership between the Nexans Group through its subsidiary Nexans Morocco and the African industrial group Envol Afrique, which brings its industrial and local logistics expertise.
